 Williams Trace Boulevard construction project

Scope: Reconstruction of a 4-lane divided roadway with features like curb and gutter, left-turn lanes, inlets/manholes, and a triple-left turn lane to improve traffic flow onto southbound SH 6.

Project Title = CST2503    Williams Trace Reconstruction (Oyster Creek to SH6) Estimated cost: ~$22.4 million (split between county and city, with $11.2M city side) Bond Tracker Website

From the City of Sugar Land

The Williams Trace Blvd reconstruction project has been a priority for the city. The design phase is included in the city’s FY25 Capital Improvement Program, and the construction is planned for FY27. The project is jointly funded by the city and the Fort Bend County with each contributing approximately 50%. The city’s 50% share for the design phase is funded in FY25.  We have been working with the Fort Bend County on an Interlocal Agreement (ILA). Once the agreement is approved, the city will have the 50% of the county’s share to start the project.

The design phase will take approximately 12 months. Since the project is large and complex, the construction will take 18 to 24 months. There will be opportunities during design and construction phases to provide updates and seek feedback from the residents in the area. We will work with you to schedule the meetings once we start the project.

From Fort Bend County

As previously noted, the Williams Trace Boulevard project falls under the jurisdiction of the City of Sugar Land, and they are best positioned to provide updates on its status and timeline.
With regard to the County’s funding commitment, we are currently finalizing an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) with the City to formalize that support.

We appreciate your continued patience and will share further updates with the constituents once the ILA is fully executed.
In the future, if you have any questions related to this office, please feel free to reach out to me directly. I'm happy to assist and ensure your concerns are addressed.
